Me and Marius decided to go for one last hike in 2010 and we chose to get up Needle Peak.
It was pretty cold once we got at the parking lot but once we started moving we were getting warmer and had to take some layers off.
The trail wasn't that busy but there were lots of tracks from previous days which helped us for better travel.
The weather was looking amazing for that day and we got lucky to have the sun on our side on such a cold day.
Soon we reached the col between Needle and Flatiron from where we traversed a bit slowly rising and soon we saw our destination the summit of Needle Peak.
Most of the way to the summit was pretty easy and straight forward but the summit pyramid was looking pretty gnarly and icy in few spots.
We soon got our crampons on and ice axe and started to go up the summit pyramid.
Soon enough we made it to the summit where we didn't stayed too much in those freezing temperatures.
On our way back we decided not to follow our way in and just keep following the ridge down to the col, which wasn't too bad and we got a group of skiers that were watching us and taking some photos of us.
Once we got back down at the col it was easy and fast travel to get back to the car and despite the day the traffic was pretty good all the way to Vancouver.
A great day to end the year 2010.
