At that time I didn't know who John Clarke is or that I am actually going for John Clarke Peak.
After seeing a post on clubtread that somebody was doing a day trip into Sun Peak area I decided to join and explore a new area.
The access was pretty good,we were able to get to the trailhead with a Honda Crv.
The trail starts a bit steep from the start,but pretty well marked all the way up to Bugs Lake.
Once we got there I understood why it's called Bugs Lake, the area was just full with lots and lots of bugs, mostly black flies and mosquitoes.
From there is a nice open area,but we had to do some route finding .
We got up first on Sun Peaks from where we descended on a loose gully and got on the glacier and didn't took us too much to get up on the summit of John Clarke.
We got some incredible views from the summit and I had way too many questions asking which peak is which.
Soon we started our way down and we skipped Sun Peak on the way down by going on the glacier and back down to Bugs Lake from where was pretty easy travel back to our car.
