For this weekend Adrien suggested to go for Mount Grant and Eaton Peak.
It was 4 of us,me,Adrien,Marius and Ben.
Adrien drove his car all the way to Eaton Lake parking lot which was in pretty good shape.
Once we got at the parking there was a huge group of 15 hikers that were just getting ready to start hiking up to the lake.
The trail was in really good shape and looked like it's been traveled a lot.
Soon we were getting close to the huge group of 15 hikers and took us a while to pass all of them.
Along the way there was 3 creek crossings which were pretty slippery and not so easy to do,especially the last creek crossing just before the lake.
Took us 2.5 hours to get to the lake and soon we started to set up our tents and get everything inside and by the time we were done the group of 15 hikers got to the lake too.
After some snacks we soon started our way to Mount Grant.
We crossed the outflow of the lake and started our way up the steep sloped towards Mount Grant.
After 30 minutes since we left the lake we had some views and could see Eaton peak on the other side which was in the clouds.
Soon we got to a gully that was still with snow and we decided to take it for a faster travel up.
The gully wasn't too bad and took us right to the summit of Mount Grant.
Once we got on the summit we didn't had too many views but we had still lots of time so we decided to spend some time on the summit and hope for some views later .
We only had some windows were we will have some ok views and everybody will go crazy with their cameras.
It was getting late and soon we left the summit and started our way down following the same gully we took on our way up.
Once we got back down at the lake we had our dinners few stories and went to bed.
The next morning we woke up pretty early and had our early breakfast after what we started our way to Eaton Peak.
The trail was a bit bushy at the start but then opens up and we had snow on our route pretty fast.
We got our crampons on since the terrain was getting steeper but we made it pretty fast to the ridge.
As we were waiting for Marius to get up on the ridge a huge piece from the cornice collapsed and formed a small avalanche on the route we were planning on going.
After looking at those huge cornices we decided to take a different route and went up the West ridge.
We contoured around Eaton Peak via the north face of the Peak.
There was few interesting sections along the West ridge to the summit, mostly class 3.
Near the summit we traversed the ridge skipping the a cheval move and going on some exposed ledges that maybe was as bad as going on that a cheval part.
Soon all of us got on the summit and the views were beautiful with that sunny weather, we could see lots of nice peaks and that mighty looking Mount Baker.
Took us pretty fast to get back down to the lake because of that fast snow travel.
Once we got at the lake we packed our gear and started our way back down to the parking lot which took us an hour.
Here is a video of the trip.
