We left Vancouver pretty late for this one but we we knew that it shouldn't take us too long to get to the lake.
The road was in decent shape but was getting worse in few spots before the parking lot.
The trail was in a better shape compared to the time I was there a while ago and didn't took us too long to get to the lake.
Once we got at the lake we left our overnight gear in the hut and started our way up towards Shadowfax Peak.
From the hut it was a bit bushy for a bit before getting into the alpine from where we could see Shadowfax Peak.
We followed a system of slabs and gullies on the west face of Shadowfax Peak to access the South ridge.
The south ridge wasn't too bad, no more than class 3 to reach the summit of Shadowfax Peak.
Once we got on the summit we could the rest of the group of peaks and plan the next day.
Soon we started our way back down to the hut where we had our dinners.
The next morning we had a small surprise by the amount of the fresh snow that had fallen over the night.
Our first peak for the day was Gandalf peak to where we followed the description from Matt Gunn's book.
From the summit of Gandalf Peak we continued our way to the summit of Aragon where we didn't spent too much time since the weather wasn't on our side on that day.
On our way back we descended from the col of Gandalf and Aragon which had a pretty steep snow slope for a bit after what was pretty easy travel to get back down to the hut.
Once we got at the hut we packed our gear and started our way back down to the parking lot.
