Alexis suggested to go ski Duke and Caspar peaks into Duffey area as an overnight trip and of course we all agreed to that plan.
We left Vancouver pretty early since we had a fairly long drive to Duffey where we parked our cars at Caspar Creek from where we took the Cerise Main road which is gated at the highway and after few km we took a left turn into Caspar Creek Road which was a bit bushy in few spots but we got lucky to have some snowmobile tracks.
Once we reached the meadows at about 1500m we decided to set up our camp since it was in between Duke and Caspar peaks and after unpacking our overnight gear we left towards Mount Duke.
Not too far from our campsite there was a pretty long section of boulders that looked like it will be fun on our way down.
After the boulderfield there was few steep sections to get up to the Vantage-Duke col.
Once we got at the col we had some pretty sweet views of Joffre group and Vantage and we could see the might looking Duke.
We followed the NW ridge of Duke which was fairly ok to a point where there was a pretty tricky step.
Took us a while to get over that step but once we got over it it was again pretty easy skinning along the ridge with steep switchbacks .
Once we got on the summit of Duke the clouds were moving in and we didn't had a great summit view.
We didn't spend too much time on the summit since we had a small window and decided to start skiing.
We tough we will be skiing down the same way along the ridge when on the summit Alexis suggested to ski the North Face of Duke.
Once we got at the entrance into the North Face of Duke we couldn't see much, all we saw was Alexis dropping into the clouds after his 2 turns.
Once by one we skied that might looking North Face of Mount Duke and we were all happy and excited once we regrouped at the bottom of the face from where it was pretty easy and fast skiing back to our campsite.
On our second day we got back on Caspar Creek road and took a spur that goes to a clearcut which was super bushy, but from the end we found a nice open area which was pretty steep.
Wasn't long until we reached the South ridge of Caspar Peak from where it was easy skinning to the summit of Caspar Peak.
For our way down we decided to take a more interesting line and followed the ridge towards Kosegarten Peak where there was a really nice bowl which had some great snow, we all wanted to do it again but we were running out of time and once we reached the valley we skied back down to the car.
