Brew,Malt and Hops Peaks
The avalanche rating was pretty high for this weekend but Alexis suggested that we should go towards Brew Hut where the terrain is more mellow and it should be some mellow good skiing.
We took Dean's car and didn't drove too far from the highway, pretty much at the first hill we turned around after trying few times.
It was already raining from the parking lot so this wasn't looking like a great start so far.
We walked a bit on the road before we were able to get our skis off our packs and start skinning.
Once we got at R-200 branch we missed the trail we continued our way on the road for a bit and stayed bellow the trail for a while before we found the markers in the forest.
The snow was pretty deep and heavy and kept coming down but we were moving slowly.
It took us 10 hours to get to the hut, we were all wet and tired but we were happy to see that nice small hut.
Soon we started the fire and got all our wet gear near the stove and started our dinners.
The next morning we woke up with some good views but the winds was pretty brutal and still a bit cloudy and Alexis decided to go for a short run near the hut to see if the weather will improve even more.
After doing 2 laps the weather got better and we started our way towards Mount Brew which didn't took us that long to get on the summit by the West Ridge.
From the summit of Mount Brew we skied the South face then traversed around towards Brew-Malt col from where we took the SE ridge to the summit of Mount Malt.
From the summit of Mount Malt we skied back to the hut where we packed everything and started our way back to the car.
First we decided to go up Hops Peak from where we started our way down.
From Hops peak we skied down into a wrong gully and way too far down and had to skin back up for about 1 km and the visibility was getting worse as we were doping lower which made it harder for navigation.
Once we got back on track we continued our way down but we were going pretty slow since we couldn't see much in front of us and by the time we got back down to the clearcut it was getting pretty dark already.
