Cloudburst

                                                   Cloudburst Peak, April 12th 2014

It was time for Alexis to move to Canmore and we decided to do a trip together before he moves away and his decision was to go and ski Cloudburst Peak.

Since it was a shorter drive we didn't had to leave super early like every other weekend and left a little bit later for this one.

Once we got in Squamish Alexis took a nap and I tough we will be going up via the description in Matt Gunn's book and good thing Alexis woke up when I did my left turn past Squamish.

We soon got back on the highway and continued our way towards Whistler.

Once we got on the logging road we drove for quite a bit before reaching the snow where we had to stop and few snowmobilers where unloading their snowmobiles.

Soon we started skinning on the logging road and further up we got to a pretty fresh skin track so we started to follow that skin track.

After following that track for a while we ended up to a group's campsite that were planning to get up Cloudburst but as overnight.

After saying Hi we soon looked into the map that Alexis had and figured out where we should be going.

Soon we got into the alpine from where we could see the summit which wasn't that far but we weren't going super fast.

Once we got on the summit we took our time enjoying the views, especially looking towards Tantalus and Garibaldi and soon we started our way back down.

The snow was perfect, perfect corn snow, and Alexis was of course super fast as always and had troubles keeping up with him on the downhill.

It didn't took us a lot of time to get back to to the road from where we had to walk a bit of it since it melted out.

Great trip with Alexis for his last trip before he moved to Canmore.
