Schroeder, Contralto, Mezzo and Soprano Peaks July 19th 2015

After doing Melvin area on the previous day the next morning we woke up drove to Downton Branch 2 and drove it to the parking lot for Holly Lake trail at 1760m.

The trail was in good shape and seemed like is getting a lot of traffic and in no time we got into the alpine where we started to have our first morning views.

We hiked up to the col between Linus and Schroeder Peaks from where we followed the NW ridge of Schroeder Peak which had few towers in the way with some fun scramble moves but nothing more than class 3.

Once we got on Schroeder Peak we continued our way towards Contralto peak which also had few steps just before the summit.

From Contralto our plan was to follow the N ridge to the summit of Mezzo peak.

After Mezzo the plan was to finish the trip with Soprano peak following its West ridge to the summit which was pretty easy to follow except one spot just before the summit.

It was a pretty big step to go down into the col and after looking for few minutes for a way to down climb it we went back a bit on the ridge and had to lose some elevation so we could by pass that section and from there the ridge wasn't too bad.

On our way down from the summit we just took the gully from the notch down to the lake from where we rejoined the trail and hiked back down to the car.
