I've always been looking at Hope slide while driving on the highway and wondering how it will be to hike up or ski it and decided that it might be a faster access to Johnson and the rest of the peaks since the logging roads weren't in a good shape to drive on.
So we all met at the hope slide and parked our cars on the old highway which is gated ad form there started our way up Hope Slide.
It was a pretty warm day already and the terrain was pretty steep and loose.
About half way up we found some pieces from an airplane all over the place.
Once we were getting near the ridge the terrain was super loose and dusty and we had some trouble getting on the ridge.
Once we got on the ridge we finally had a better terrain and were able to move faster and soon we got on the subsummit of Johnson from where it was a pretty quick hike up to Johnson peak.
From Johnson we continued along the ridge and started to make our way up towards Manson which has a pretty nice looking summit block.
After Manson our next stop was Hatfield and at this time all of us were getting pretty tired
After Hatfiled Ben decided to skip MacLeod and go back to his car while me and Dean continued our way up to MacLeod Peak which felt like a never ending summit.
From Macleod we went back down and start making our way don to the highway following Eleven Mile North Side FSR.
Once we got on the highway no we had to hike back up to our car which was about 2 km up the highway which felt also never ending.
Once we got at the car we drove down to Hope, had something to eat and found a spot where we could sleep and get some rest for our next day's adventure.
