Phacelia-Brimstone Peaks

                                          Phacelia-Brimstone Peaks February 28-March 01 2015

After talking for a while about going into that area we finally decided to give it a try and get in there on skis.

We didn't drive as far as we planned due to some bigger waterbars that were there from some recent logging.

After a long walk we finally got to the snow from where we were able to start skinning but not for long since soon we had to cross the creek.

Just bellow Reflection Peak is where we decided to cross the creek and from there go up.

The creek crossing wasn't as bad as we expected, we got lucky to find a log that we used to cross a part of the creek.

Once we got on the other side we got our skis back on and started skinning up towards the lake between Reflection and Phacelia Mountains.

The terrain was getting steeper while we were getting closer to the headwall and soon we had to boot pack the steep part of the headwall to reach the lake.

Once we reached the lake we were impressed by the views and soon started our way to the upper lake between Phacelia and Meditation Mountains where we were planning to camp.

Once we got to the upper lake we found a spot to camp and set up our tents and decided to go for Phacelia since we still had some time left.

The snow was pretty solid so the travel was pretty fast and we got in no time to the summit part of Phacelia Mountain.

The summit section was pretty steep but not as long as it looked from the bottom.

Soon we all reached the summit and after few sunset photos we started our way back down to our camp where we had our dinners.

Latter we tried some night photography since the moon was so bright that night.

In the morning we boot packed up to Phacelia ridge again from where after few ups and down we reached the summit of Brimstone.

From Brimstone we dropped down into the drainage and soon we got back to our track from the previous day from where we had a long walk with our skis and boots on the back.
